Our commitments
These are the principles we work to. They are short on purpose, plain on purpose, and load-bearing on purpose. We will keep them up to date — and when we change them, we will say what changed and why.
1 · Transparency
Every decision can be traced.
BeyondTheBox systems are white-box by design. SERENA, the engine that powers Serena, exposes its full six-layer trace for every turn. There is no neural black box anywhere in the stack. This is not marketing — it is the load-bearing engineering choice we made on day one.
You can read the SERENA papers, inspect a live trace inside the app, and follow the public changelog where every product change is recorded.
2 · Responsibility
We are clear about what we will and will not build.
We will not ship features that manipulate emotion against the user's interest. We will not run dark-pattern engagement loops. We will not train on user content without explicit consent. We will not take contracts whose primary purpose is surveillance.
We will explain what data we collect and why, and we will let you delete it. The cookie notice is a small everyday example of the same idea — you decide.
3 · Care
Calm software, made carefully.
Serena was built lifespan-aware because emotion deserves to be modelled the way it actually grows. We try to translate that thesis to the rest of the platform.
That means: no urgency timers, no auto-opening modals, motion that
respects prefers-reduced-motion, errors that explain themselves, and a
support inbox read by a real person.
If something on this site feels rushed, manipulative, or unkind, please tell us. We mean it.
